Students who attended summer school were surprised by visitors this morning! Deb, with Edgerton Explorit Center, brought her "Raptorology- the Science of Raptors" exhibit, to SV, and taught us about her birds. We had an amazing time meeting Roy, a Swanson's hawk, Ted, a Kestrel falcon, Doc, an Eastern Screech Owl, and Aquila, a Bald Eagle. Students were able to handle feathers, talons, and wings. One of the most interesting experiences was dissecting owl pellets. Our two weeks went fast, but we had a great time learning!
Southern Valley Schools will be hosting a sports physical clinic on Tuesday, June 24 from 8:00-10:00 am. This is only for students entering grades 8-12 in the fall of 2025 (students entering the 7th grade are not eligible for this clinic). Students may pick up the necessary forms either in the HS Weight Room or in the HS Office. ALL forms must be signed by a parent prior to the physical appt. The cost is $35 cash or check (made payable to Heartland Family Medicine). Please complete the google sign-up form attached to this post by Monday, June 23 so we can plan accordingly.
