SV Art students attended the Hastings College Paint In with 35 other schools; the theme āOppositesā was given for students to brainstorm and paint in a few hours. For their mural, SV students decided to combine several opposites: complimentary colors, day and night, sand and water, etc. They were also inspired by Van Goghās technique in Starry Night, incorporating it into their artwork. Great job Shandlyn, Kallie, Marko, and Emily! In addition to competing, they toured the collegeās art facilities and saw Hastings faculty work exhibited in the JDAC gallery.
