Southern Valley Staff Shout Out to Mr. Richard McDonald. He is going on his 7th year teaching science and coaching at SV. He is also the FCA sponsor. His favorite lesson to teach is natural hazard mitigation. He also enjoys teaching chemistry. While coaching, he enjoys watching his players grow and challenging them to get better. After winning the RPAC tournament, Coach McDonald enjoyed seeing the pure joy on his athletesā faces after achieving one of their goals. He also really enjoyed the state basketball tournament this last season. His favorite part about teaching is that no one day is the same; every day is different and unique. His wife, Emily McDonald is Southern Valleyās School Psychologist, and his son Ben is a preschooler at SV.

Gabby wanted to eat outside with friends for her S.O.A.R. ticket reward. Thanks for being a great example for others!

The elementary students had a day full of learning about fire safety and prevention, thanks to the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department. We can't thank them enough for coming out to educate us and they also brought treats for the students.
