The kindergartners had an amazing time exploring all of the fun exhibits at the Kearney Area Children's Museum during their field trip this week!

5th grade had a great time at the Water Jamboree last week! Thanks to all of the volunteers who organize this event and give their time to teach our students!!

6th grade got to visit Memorial Stadium 🏈and the State Capitol building 🏛️today. Lots of miles 🚌 but also lots of smiles 😁!

Math 7 students have been diving into probability in the most hands-on way! 🎲📊 From rolling dice and spinning spinners to drawing color cubes, number tiles, and even cards from a deck, students explored the difference between theoretical and experimental probability. They also put their predictions to the test by shooting balls into a basket and tracking their results—bringing math to life in a fun, active way!

It’s been exciting to watch them make connections, compare outcomes, and see how real-life results don’t always match what we expect on paper. These activities sparked great discussions, teamwork, and critical thinking. Proud of their curiosity and willingness to test their ideas!

Today is the last day of High School for the Class of 2026!! Today we highlight Jacob Rice in our series for the senior class. Please join us in celebrating Jacob and wishing him the best of luck as he starts his next chapter. Congrats Jacob!!

🌱 The Southern Valley Ag Ed/FFA Greenhouse will be open today from 3-6 PM.

The greenhouse is located behind the high school near the football field. Cash and checks are accepted.

We encourage families and community members to stop by, support our students, and explore the variety of plants available!

The 7-12 Academic Awards night was held this evening in the Auditorium. We were pleased and honored to celebrate so many of our outstanding students and recognize their many accomplishments and awards.

Tonight we were honored to induct eight new members to our National Honor Society chapter. Congratulations to these students for their outstanding academics and service.

Due to weather concerns, the JH track meet for Tuesday, May 5 @ Cambridge was postponed to Friday.

Southern Valley will NOT attend on Friday due to a lack of subs available and other outside conflicts.
