The High School basketball teams continue their seasons today! They travel to Gibbon, starting with JV at 3:30 pm, and then the varsity will follow at approximately 4:30 PM.
**Schedule Change**
Due to the potential for severe weather, the basketball games @ Gibbon on Tuesday, February 11 will have a new start time. The JV girls will play a 2 quarter game beginning @ 3:30 pm, followed immediately by a 2 quarter JV boys game. The girls varsity game will begin @ 4:30 pm approximately.
For all the math students wondering "When will I ever use this?", the 6th graders have at least one example for you! They used their new ratio knowledge and local grocery ads to calculate unit prices and select the better deal from two options. They're ready to be smart shoppers!
JV Girls BB came up short vs Holdrege, falling 31-19. They return to action tomorrow Tuesday, Feb 11 @ Gibbon which will be the last JV Girls game of the season.

SV BBB traveled to South Loup and came up short in both JV and Varsity action. Both teams will play again on Tuesday in Gibbon.
SV GBB beats South Loup, 45-17, in varsity action. The JV's also won. Both teams will play again in Gibbon on Tuesday starting at 4:30.

On Friday, the SV boys wrestling team had another great performance. 5 medals and two firsts! Third place team finish. Great job boys!
Congratulations to the SV JH BBB team for defeating both Bertrand and Arapahoe to win the SV Tournament Championship.

Last evening we recognized Teammates mentors & mentees from both Southern Valley & Alma. We want to thank all of our selfless mentors who willingly mentor the students in the Teammates program.
Last night at halftime of the boys basketball game, we recognized our four senior cheerleaders & their parents at the last regular season home activity.
Prior to the games last night, we recognized our nine senior basketball players & their parents. We want to thank them for all of their dedication & leadership that they have provided for Southern Valley.
The basketball squads battled Alma tonight but came up short on the scoreboard. They return to action tomorow @ South Loup.
